Loved the service, the food was exquisite and very nice place to go to, went there for anniversary and was an excellent choice

Do you usually boil your meat in oil? Do you usually dip everything else you eat in molten swiss cheese or chocolate? Do you usually leave a restaurant hungry and overpay? You may like this place.

I went for my birthday last night and it was amazing! My boyfriend had prearranged for their to be roses at the table. When we got there, we were waiting on our guests and had a drink. The bartender was friendly and helpful. She even recommended the mojo we ended up getting! Our meal was amazing! We did the spinach artichoke cheese, I had the ahi tuna, salmon and filet and for dessert was the s'mores chocolate. Our waitress was so kind and even laughed at our corny jokes. From start to end, a great birthday!

I was going to write this last night, when we got home, but I was so blissfully overstuffed that I just couldn't put fingers to keyboard. Wow - what a dinner! When we got there, we had a bit of a wait, trying to figure out where the hostess was, so I immediately thought, "Gee, I hope this doesn't set the pace for the service." Eventually she did appear and we only had to wait a couple of minutes to be shown to our table, and yes, we did have reservations. As we were seated we were asked if we wanted the curtains up or down. This took me totally by surprise, as I've never been seated in a booth at a restaurant that came with privacy curtains. In spite of the fact that it was our 37th anniversary, we really didn't plan to do anything but eat at the time, so we opted to leave the curtains up. Next came the decisions. Those were really hard. First was what to drink. I generally don't drink when we go out because drinks are so flippin' expensive for what you get, but my sweet husband said he thought I should. I opted for the signature "Meltini," made with X Rated Fusion, Triple Sec, sweet and sour mix and a splash of an unnamed fruit juice. This was a good drink. No, I mean this was a GOOD drink! It was sweet without being cloying, smooth and refreshing. It actually wasn't badly priced, especially comparing it to what we usually see. Next was the dinner. We had a Groupon that offered 3 courses; salad, a create your own entree and dessert. I don't know what my husband was thinking when he looked at the Groupon and didn't notice that it didn't have a cheese fondue. Really? Melting pot with no cheese?? So, before we got there, we discussed the possibility of asking them to let us trade out the chocolate in favor of a cheese. I suspect that they have had this happen before. We never got around to asking, as they immediately offered us a discount on the cheese fondue as part of the Groupon offer. Great! We could have the best of all possible fondue dinners for a decent upcharge ($5 per person). There were several cheese fondues that sounded really intriguing. We decided to go outside the traditional block of cheddar and ordered the gorgonzola with bacon. I was a bit hesitant, since it is a pretty strong flavor but the menu said that it was a blend of three cheeses, so what the heck, we were celebrating and that should always be an adventure. It wasn't long until Nika, our server, brought the pot and all the ingredients to the table and started blending. This concoction, was unbelievably good. It was served with apple chunks, some veggies and the traditional bread. Yep, the bread is mine. It was so good, I just wanted to scratch the rest of the menu and order more, but that wasn't one of the options. We all but licked the pot clean. Next was the salad. We chose the California salad of mixed field greens with a black walnut/raspberry dressing (which you can buy bottled), candied pecans and gorgonzola crumbles. It was totally delicious. So, we were ready for the entree. This one was more complicated for the decision making process as there were a wide variety of meats and cooking bases. We decided to stick with the regular broth, which we had had before and knew we liked. The more designer broths were an uptick in price by another $5+. From the list of about a dozen or more meat options, we went with the filet mignon, the sesame crusted ahi and (just to be different) the chicken potstickers. We each got a plate with four big chunks each of the fish and steak and two big potstickers. They came accompanied by six signature sauces ranging from a mild curry to a spicier teriyaki. Every one of them was yummy. It didn't matter what I dipped in what, it was all good. They also added mushrooms and potatoes to the broth. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. About the time I didn't think I could eat another bite, Nika reappeared with the dessert menu. Choices, choices. We immediately eliminated any of the white chocolates. If it's white, it ain't chocolate. I would have loved to try the milk chocolate with crunchy peanut butter, but my husband wasn't so sure. We finally agreed on the dark chocolate but couldn't decide what to add in. We thought a mocha would be nice, but there wasn't anything like that on the menu. Nika immediately offered to add Kahlua instead of the liqueur choices on the menu. Thankfully, it took her a bit longer this time to come out with the ingredients. I think she knew that we needed a bit of a resting period. We also had a bit of time to let it get up to the proper degree of heat, which she told us would make it taste even better. It was a heavenly concoction. While I like pound cake, rice krispy treats, etc., I wish I could have gone with an entire plate of fruit dippers, especially strawberries. They were soooo good dipped in that luscious chocolate. From beginning to end, I couldn't ask more of an anniversary dinner. It was perfect.

This was my second time to The Melting Pot, but first time to the Coral Springs location. My first time here was for a Yelp event that was amazing and made we drooling to come back. The problem, my boyfriend is allergic to dairy. The fix, arrange a girl's night with friends for some cheese and chocolate. The girl's night turned out GREAT! Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name) was so friendly and helpful. We had reservations for a group of 7 and were seated promptly once everyone had arrived. Our table had 3 burners and was nice and clean. The only down side at this point (and of the night) was that the hostess didn't seem to understand she was clearing away too many utensils even though we repeatedly asked her to leave one. I had to physically take one out of her hands before she left us. We ended up ordering 3 different cheeses, 1 entree and 2 different chocolates. For the cheeses, we ordered the Classic Alpine, Loaded Baked Potato Cheddar and I think the Spinach Artichokes or the Cheddar. All cheeses were served with slices of white and rye bread, apples, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and grape tomatoes. The latter two were our favorites and we'd definitely order them again. I can't comment on the entree but everyone who tried it seemed pleased with what they had. I heard the lobster was yummy. As for the chocolates, we ordered the Cookies 'n Cream Marshmallow Dreams and the Flaming Turtle. For each pot we got added a shot of alcohol which they flambed for us tableside. It was pretty cool to see. To dip in the chocolate, we were given strawberries, bananas, pineapples, graham cracker covered marshmallows, Oreo cookie crumb covered marshmallows, rice krispy treats and pound cake. Cost wise, I was worried about how much it was going to be in the end. To my surprise, my total (food split 7 ways + my one drink) was around $35 after tip. The food and service was fantastic. We had such a great time chatting and hanging out together that this will definitely be an evening we do again.

The Melting Pot in Ft Lauderdale hosted a community Yelp event a few months back, and I had such a good time, I've been meaning to go back ever since, and when I saw what The Melting Pot in Coral Springs was offering for Dine Out Ft Lauderdale I knew it was time to head in. We had attempted to make reservation for sometime around 6pm on a Saturday, but being that we called at 2pm on that Saturday, they were all booked up until at least 8, and that didn't work for our schedule that night, so we pushed our Melting Pot date to Sunday. Arriving on Sunday evening it was very quiet inside the restaurant, and there didn't seem to be many customers at all, so it seems Saturday is especially busy for them. We were seated immediately in a nice cozy booth with a curtain, and our waitress introduced herself. We mentioned that we were there for the Dine Out Ft Lauderdale promotion. They didn't have the special advertised on the menu, so they aren't pushing it, but the waitress was very friendly and accommodating when we mentioned it. The Dine Out promotion included a choice of cheese fondue, salad, a variety of meats (lobster, chicken, shrimp, two kinds of steak, and ravioli) that were accompanied by veggies, as well as a chocolate fondue for dessert. With the special we were able to chose anything off the menu, even the "premium" items....all this for $35 a person. For our cheese we chose the Wisconsin trio (fontina, gorgonzola, and some other cheese I can't pronounce with a touch of white wine.) The cheese was absolutely delicious and the staff is very accommodating, need more bread or veggies for dipping? No problem, we had them in seconds. For salad I went with the Melting Pot house salad and my boyfriend got the Caesar. We were both very happy, but I think my choice was a little better as the Melting Pot house dressing is quite delicious. Next came the main course (I'll admit I was a little full already). We chose the coq au vin cooking style which had a nice rich flavor that really went well especially with the steak and potatoes. We happily cooked and talked, and again the staff was more than happy to bring us extra veggies. I can't talk about the main course without mentioning the sauces. They have numerous sauces to use on your meat and veggies...my favorites are the gorgonzola and the green goddess, but they are all great, and I was eating many of them on their own with a spoon. Finally, dessert. We chose the cookies and cream fondue, which was chocolate swirled with marshmallow and oreo cookies accompanied by a plate of sweets to dip. My favorite dippers are the bananas and the rice krispy treats, but there are also marshmallows, strawberries, brownies, and pound cake. At this point I was absolutely stuffed, but the way they time things here, and the experience of dipping, and cooking, and chatting, makes it seem like less food (until you think about it later). It's a really great place for a date night, romantic, but still fun. The Dine Out Ft Lauderdale menu is a steal, so hurry in before November 6th for a great Melting Pot experience.

You would have to be a real jerk not to capitalize on the sexy ambiance that breathes through this joint. This is why I'm no different than anyone else when I go. I've been here for Valentines Day, Mothers Day, and a few birthdays. Each time, I've enjoyed myself and never really thought about going back until the next celebration, until now. There is a first for everything, and I've never been here without celebrating something. Going here just for dinner? Now if you have eaten here, you know there is no way to rush thru a meal. If you order all of the courses, It takes a while to eat them all. So I decided to do an experiment: once my wife and I walked in the doors, we would put our phones away. The only exception was for me to take pictures for this review. I have been so tied to my damn phone, to put this device away has become foreign to me. The Melting Pot is the perfect place to go off the grid even if it's for 90 minutes. First off, it's like being on vacation. The lights are dimmed and the decor has a cozy chalet feel. It has a sexy feel. So the phones are away, what do we do now? My wife and I start laughing. We grab each others hands and start talking and talking and talking. Our conversation would be broken up with some interaction with the server. Man, I felt good and relaxed. Face to face conversations have become such a lost art. The Melting Pot is the perfect place to rediscover what is important. Good conversation and great food. So we ordered the gorgonzola, cheddar and bacon cheese appetizer, the summer boil with extra snow crab claws and a banana split chocolate dessert. Gorgonzola cheese has that nice pungent kick that I love. It's milder than a blue cheese which makes it easy to enjoy with the bacon and other cheeses. You get all the standard components to dip in this cheese bath of love such as; green apples, cauliflower, carrots, breads, and broccoli. My favorites are the apples and cauliflower. The green apples give it that tartness that matches the punch-in-the-face the cheese and bacon give you. Cheese and raw cauliflower were made for each other. Cauliflower has a nutty taste which is why eating it raw and covered with cheese is a thing of beauty. The summer boil has all the ingredients of an old fashion cajun seafood boil. The only difference is the subtle beef broth. Once the Old Bay Seasoning is added the boil, it comes alive. They will add and subtract as much Old Bay as you want, I told them that I want all of it and some cayenne pepper on the side. So in go the potatoes, the corn on the cob and the andouille sausage. I let that cook, and take some swigs of my cold beer. I sit back with the smell of the Old Bay floating in the air, and that shit smells like summer to me. If you have ever been to a real crab boil in Mississippi or New Orleans you know what I'm talking about. Next in are the scallops and crab claws that are cracked to expose that delicious meat. The cooking time is fast. I take them out and sprinkle more Old Bay on top. I dip them in the hot butter and go to town. Damn, this is food heaven. I repeat this process with the shrimp. All along, I'm letting the corn and potatoes soak in the broth. I eat them last. My only gripe would be that the corn needs to be cut thicker. They were only cut about one inch thick. Beyond that I thought the amount food was worth the price. Plus, they will bring out more veggies at no cost when requested. My wife ordered the banana split chocolate dessert. Exchange the ice cream with a bowl of chocolate, and you have a re-imagined banana split. Inside the bowl of warm milk chocolate, they slice up bananas, put in some walnuts, and top it with some whipped cream and a cherry. They then provide you with pieces of angel food cake, more bananas, rice crispy treats. marshmallows, and strawberries. Decadent is the only way to describe this dessert. Around six years ago I met manager Randy Nutt while eating here. A true professional, and it didn't hurt that his son is a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He always stopped by our table to check on our experience, and this was long before I really started writing reviews. I run into Randy and tell him I saw the email about the Summer Seafood Catch special. I told him I was going to stop by to give it a try. I'm sure he wasn't holding his breath for me to show up but I did. Verdict I have never had bad food or service here. Never. I'm going to start looking at this restaurant in a different light. It's just not for celebrations. I know it's not cheap, and great experiences like this shouldn't be cheap. But, you can go during happy hour and get cheese and chocolate fondue for five bucks a person with discounted drinks. The bar has two hot plates and you can nibble and drink right there. Most importantly, put away your electronic devices and just talk. Remember to Randy that Dan sent you and Stay Hungry

Ambiance and service really mass this chain. Food...not as much, though it's interesting and worth checking out. If you haven't had a fondue experience, you should give it a try. The courses differ and may not all be to your taste, but overall it's worth the experience. For me personally, the main course is not terribly exciting, boiling raw meat isn't my cup of tea, but the appetizer (cheese course) and the dessert (chocolate!) are really worth the trip. I have been told that the seafood side of the main course is worth it, but I'm a steak and potato person, so that's not for me. You have options for what the cooking styles are for the main course, from coq au vin to Caribbean flavors to simple oils. Cooking in the liquid you choose takes a couple minutes, so there's plenty of down time for conversation, but I'm used to a different style of cooking, so it may not suit everyone. However, the initial course of having melted cheese to dip various things in is almost heaven to this midwesterner, and very few people will object to a healthy dose of the dessert course, with melted chocolate of various varieties over fruits, marshmallows, pound cake, and brownies. It's not cheap, but you're getting great quality service and an excellent atmosphere with your meal. I can't say I want to come here often, but I'm not at all opposed to coming here for special occasions.

OK, it seems a bit self-serving to give a Five-Star to a place that you cook for yourself, but nonetheless it deserves 5 Stars! We have been enjoying the Melting Pot over and over for years. The people here at the Coral Springs restaurant are AWESOME, always friendly super-helpful and add to the dining experience. Now on to the food: Cheese, Cheese, and more Cheese it's the only way to start a meal. If you're new to the experience, start with the Traditional Swiss, then on your next visit branch out. Dinner: Go with the Court Bouillon and your preference of protein. (Don't do the oil/fried version, its too heavy and a waste of extra calories) Dessert: Chocolate... Chocolate galore! Hot liquid chocolate dripping off a rice krispy treat. What more do I need to say. Great bar drinks too if you are up for some delicious libations.

First off, make sure you come hungry! The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant so you dip items into melted cheese and chocolate. With your entree you actually cook the meats and other items in oils at the table. The servers are very friendly and attentive. It gets busy on the weekends so if you're planning peak dining times definitely call a day or two ahead and make a reservation. The Coral Springs location has happy hour Monday-Friday from 4-7pm in the bar area. $5 cheeses, chocolates, and drinks - hard to beat! Also, if you sign up for their emails you get notifications for special events like Ladies Night, Parent/Child "date" nights, spring break specials, etc. where they offer different 3 and 4 course specials, and they send you a coupon for chocolate covered strawberries on your birthday. My favorite entree to do it is the Fondue By You where you get to select your own three items. They have preset mixed entree selections or you can do just one meat/item. My favorite cheeses are the Alpine Swiss (ask for a champagne base!) and the Loaded Baked Potato. You pretty much can't go wrong with any of the chocolates.

Being a chain Melting Pot has a constant product across all locations I've been to. This particular location has some funky 2 person tables. They always try to stick us at one of the claustrophobic 2 person tables and we always have to request a regular table. Outside of the too small 2 person tables the food is good. Melting Pot is a fun experience. I love the green goddess sauce!

Amazing! Delicious and Alex our waiter is amazing! He is a dream. Conscientious and considerate! I took my visiting parents out for dinner before they left, they had never been to a melting pot before and after Friday nights dinner - They will be back. The dinner was awesome and I can't say enough about the dessert. It's good followed by more good. If I had anything negative to say, it would be about our hostess she gave us a hard time about changing to a larger table and then talked about us behind one of the curtains, I guess she forgot we were on the other side of it. Fail on her part. Despite that bit of bad, our waiter made up for it :) Thanks again!!

This restaurant has been one of mine and my families favorite places to celebrate special occasions for as long as I can remember. Everything from the private curtain seating, to the service, to the food presentation makes you feel like you are VIP. Plus, I love that you can enjoy the meal at your own pace and really enjoy take the time to enjoy the company you are with without ever feeling rushed like you do at other dining establishments.

We were just there the other day! Fried pot was awesome but the batter was a lil toooo thick. I love the excellent service. It's pricyyyyy for the food but definitely a nice experience with love ones. Not a kid friendly place at all since they have no kids meal nor drawing pads to entertain kids xD

I absolutley love this place. I went with my husband for our anniversary and had an amazing time. We had a private booth in the back, so it was very comfortable. The waitress was wonderful and talked us through everything since it was our first time. All the food was delish and the atmosphere was perfect for a romantic date night. If you haven't tried this restaurant, you really should. One thing I will say is that I do not think that it's very kid friendly. The food is very hot, there are sharp utensils and it can get a little messy, even for adults.

I have been coming to Melting Pot for a very long time. Me and my fiance like to celebrate anniversaries and special occasions here. It offers a unique experience with DELICIOUS food. Highly recommend for a dinner for any normal day, romantic occasion, or special celebration. Last night when we went to celebrate an anniversary, My server Chelsea was excellent, the food was perfectly timed. We never had to wait to receive another entree. She was very personable and an overall great server! Michael, the manager was very accommodating to our needs (We are very picky!) and also helped create a great experience for us. It was very nice to be greeted by the manager and offered additional services. We celebrate every Anniversary with Melting Pot! This experience was one of our best yet at our favorite restaurant. I do miss the Wisconsin Trio though!! They made up for it with the delicious Old Bay broth that they now have-Me and my fiance love spice! Highly recommend this restaurant and specifically this location

My 17 year old invited my parents to desert last night at melting pot with his girlfriend. They arrived at 8 pm . Tons of tables open and no wait. Except the hostess told them they needed reservations so it would be a 20 min wait. Seriously. Do restaurants not need business? I guess melting pot is doing so well they do not need any business. My son took my parents to cherry smash instead and they had a great time.

I recently suggested Melting Pot for a birthday dinner with a group of friends who had never been to a Melting Pot before. Jessica was so sweet and went over a lot with the new people before our server came to the table. I've never met such an attentive hostess!! She also helped us order some roses and chocolate covered strawberries for the birthday girl to add an extra surprise to the night. We had a great night as always!

Always has been our special occasion restaurant in Coral Springs. Service has always been great - friendly, knowledgable. The melting pot is frankly more an "experience" restaurant than a "foodie" restaurant. The experience is fun - but let's face it - food (maybe with the exception of the deserts) is just ok. Always worried that someone in our party will make their chicken "medium rare" and get sick. Also - it takes so long to cook your food, you always are hungry through dinner, but then leaving feeling like you ate too much!

Although I've been to Melting Pot a ton of times over the last 10 years, I always enjoy going back especially for the Club Fondue specials and because it's Fon-to-due, LOL! Bottomless fondue nights are the best bang for the buck. Always enjoy getting the private two seater booth with curtain to celebrate the special occasions with the hubby:). Dip away!

Seriously who ever developed the business model where the wait staff pretends to actually do more than serve you uncooked food is a genius. The customer literally does all the work slaving over a dangerous boiling pot of seasoned oils and water. The only reason to go here is because its different than the usual.

I loved of here. We came here for my boyfriends birthday and we got a private booth with a curtain, very romantic. I could of done without the appetizer potion of the fondue. It was just bread and apples very blah and boring. The salad wasn't good, wasn't enough dressing. The dinner was really good though, the meat was great. I enjoyed cooking my own food it was really fun and to my surprise didn't take that long. Bill came to about $120 for 2 ppl for 4 courses including tax and tip. (Appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert)

I love this place. It is expensive. Figure about $120, tip included, for two people having the "Big Night Out". It is divided into two seating areas. One side of the restaurant is for groups and the other is for people who either like a quiet, private, or romantic atmosphere. Each booth for 2 or 4 has a privacy curtain. The wait staff is very attentive without being intrusive. Plan about 2 hours for dinner. It's nice to slow down once in a while and have time to talk while your food is cooking. The staff always asks if you have been there before and explains how to cook. It's simple, don't think that you need to be a chef or anything. A hot pot is in the middle of the table. Each person has skewers to spear their food and stick into the pot to cook. Some tables have two burners, if you want to have more than one cooking style. They change the menu periodically, but you can swap things to what you like. Right now it is a French theme. Now they offer a-la-carte ordering as well. A smart move in this economy. So you don't have to order the 4 course meal if you don't want to. If you don't know what the 'Big Night Out' is - You start with a choice of salad. They have their own dressings that are unlike anything you will find anywhere else. They sell them if you want to take them home. Your choice of cheese fondue served with various breads, apples, broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower. Your choice of cooking styles (what your pot is filled with) bouillon, oil, and a few others. Select your entree. We usually get steak, shrimp, chicken, and lobster. More vegetables, including mushroom caps and potatoes. An array of about 8+ different dipping sauces is also laid out for you. Your choice of desert. About 6+ different types of chocolate fondue with a plate of various cakes, bananas, strawberries, and other treats. OK, now I've done it. I'm ready to go there.

Although the Melting Pot is a chain...it is an upper scale one at that. Yes, expect to shell out a bit more for this type of event. It is my favorite restaurant for fondue. It will be pricey ($$$$) when you figure in all your favorite items ... I'm not the type who can go "just for the cheese fondue" or "just for the dessert". I'm all or nothing! Another thing to keep in mind. Go with a group of friends ... fondue takes time, and you may want to have a decent group (3 or more) to keep the conversation going. And by that, i mean the last thing you need is to have a group with nothing in common to talk about. Okay, now onto the fun part. My favorite part of the meal is still the cheese fondue. We started off with the "TRADITIONAL SWISS" fundue (Gruyère and Emmenthaler Swiss cheeses, white wine, garlic, nutmeg, lemon and Kirschwasser). They give you artisan breads, seasonable vegetables and sliced apples for dipping. Whatever you select, it will still be delicious. For our next foodie experience is your salads. We went with "THE MELTING POT HOUSE SALAD" (Crisp romaine and iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, crispy croutons and sliced egg with Peppercorn Ranch Dressing and two "SPINACH MUSHROOM SALADS" (Fresh spinach, baby Portobello mushrooms, red onion, chopped bacon and Roma tomatoes with a warm Burgundy Shallot Vinaigrette). The portions are small but tasty. Then you pick the type of "Cooking Style" you would like to cook your entrees. Again, we always go with the traditional "BOURGUIGNONNE" (European-style fondue in cholesterol-free / 0g trans-fat canola oil. Served with tempura and sesame batters). As for our entrees, we decided to select variety of items so we can all share. They were; "LAND AND SEA" (Premium filet mignon, herb-crusted chicken, and Pacific white shrimp), "FONDUE FUSION" (Cold water lobster tail accompanied by teriyaki-marinated sirloin, Memphis-style BBQ pork medallion, honey orange duck breast, and wild mushroom sacchetti) and their "SURF AND TURF" (A succulent cold water lobster tail paired with premium filet mignon and wild mushroom sacchetti) Save room for desert for we selected the "DARK SWISS CHOCOLATE" fondue that came with an assortment of strawberries, sliced bananas, cheesecake wedges, chocolate and white cake squares and their version of mini "Rice-Cripsy Treats" squares. Everything is excellent! Overall a great evening of drink, conversation and an "interactive" dining experience. Cheers!

I went for happy hour last Wednesday and loved it! $5 cheese or chocolate fondue and $5 drinks. You can basically order any of their specialty cocktails off the menu "within reason" according to the bartender. I had the Moscato Mule which was delicious! I can't wait to go back and have it again. I've also had dinner here in the past and found it fun and intimate with the semi-private booths in the dining room. Staff has always been super nice too.

Event dining. If you want dinner to naturally take a couple hours in a nice but relaxed atmosphere, this is the place. Cooking your own food provides something to do while you talk and the multiple courses provides a little scene change once in a while. It can be romantic, friendly, collegial, or whatever you make of it, but it's always tasty! This is a concept place and the concept is fondue. If you like fondue, you'll love this place. They have booths with privacy curtains for two and larger tables for bigger groups (I think our record is 14 people in a party). The service at this particular location has always been excellent - far better than the other local locations. (Our last visit was slightly sub-par, they seated a loud group next to us, and the management immediately reseated us and gave us free drinks and a gift card for next time - without us asking for a thing.) They have lots of great options on the menu, but we always get the The Big Night Out and usually the special (which rotates every couple months and include limited time options). That includes cheese fondue, a salad, main course fondue (meat, seafood, and veggies cooked in oil or broth), and chocolate fondue. If you're not familiar with fondue, it's pretty easy. They melt cheese in a pot and you dip bread and veggies in it; they heat up some oil or broth and you dip things in it; they heat up some chocolate and you dip things in it (and when you run out of things to dip, they bring you more - or use a straw like one friend of ours). If you are familiar with fondue, and say you do it at home, one big advantage is that they do three courses of fondue in one meal. But there is one thing I can tell you to make it worth the price of admission: no cleaning the fondue pot.

I went with my family, (a party of 6) for my birthday. We made reservations days ahead of time. I usually love this place, but we walked out. First they tried to seat us next to a kids party. Hey, if I want to have a cheap meal and kids I go to Chucky Cheese, not here. They were very nice but they sat us at a table with only two burners. The two first timers didn't even order before the server ran off. When she came back we asked if we could have a three burner table. She left again and when she returned she informed us that even though they had them, they were reserved. I told her we had a reservation and she just shrugged and said she'll get the manager. Needless to say we got up and left. Went down the street and had an amazing dinner at Runyan's. Too bad, but I guess the Melting Pot doesn't want a group with a $450.00+ tab. Life must be good for them.

Strange place. Very gimmicky. I like the salad a lot and the desert. How can you not like dipping chocolate in chocolate liquid. Very scrumptious! Very overpriced too. Too much of a serious atmosphere. Quite frankly the whole place and concept freaked me out.

I absolutely love this place. The food is fantastic and the setting is so intimate and romatic, it's the best place to go for a dinner date. Although it's a bit pricey, the experience is worth it. My boyfriend was scared by the price at first when I took him, but he loved the food and the experience so much, he's taking me there again next week!
